Memory Disk Drive (MDD) file system interface library provides the interface between the embedded system and a personal computer. Memory disk drive file system interface library is developed by Microchip and it brings the ability to transfer and share portable memory devices in the computer. The MDD library provides read and or write methods to the portable storage devices through a micro controller. The data stored on these storage devices can be read by the computer, and the data written to the storage devices can be read by a micro controller. Microsoft Windows operating systems support the FAT16 and FAT32 file systems and Apple Macintosh operating systems supports the HFS+ and HFSX file systems. The FAT 16 file system is used for various flash memory cards like secure digital (SD) cards, compact flash (CF) cards and multimedia cards which are having storage capacity size below 2 GB. The FAT 32 file system is used for the memory cards sized between 2 GB and 64 GB.
The media files such as images, songs and videos from the memory cards may be deleted or lost due to various reasons. You can recover deleted files from SD card also recover deleted files from other memory cards by using a pertinent memory card recovery software.
